ANSTEEL Unit13 is a fully imported turbine-blower set from the 20th century, featuring a Sulzer steam turbine and a Brown Boveri blower. The original control system was mechanical-hydraulic governor type, which had poor control accuracy, complex operation, and inconvenient maintenance. With increasing operating time, problems such as mechanical wear and deteriorated control accuracy became more prevalent.
Constar successfully implemented an integrated turbine and compressor control system upgrade using Woodward’s excellent 505 digital controller and Siemens PLC system, along with advanced anti-surge algorithms for both turbine and compressor.
