Unit#1 of Guizhou Aluminum is a combined heat and power extraction steam turbine manufactured by Qingdao Steam Turbine Works, with a capacity of 25 MW. The unit’s original control system used a mechanical lever feedback regulation method, which suffered from poor control accuracy, complex operation, and inconvenient maintenance. As operating time increased, problems such as mechanical wear and deteriorating control precision became more frequent. Constar upgraded the servo system with digital feedback, and successfully resolved the turbine’s instability issues.

Three turbines of Shijiazhuang Refinery were manufactured by Nanjing Turbine Works. The turbines originally used a certain brand of electro-hydraulic converter, which had poor accuracy, difficult adjustment, and inconvenient maintenance. As operating time increased, problems such as mechanical wear and deteriorating control precision became more frequent, causing instability in speed, extraction pressure, and power control. Constar carried out a retrofit using the TM-25 power converter, successfully resolving the unit’s instability issues.

The GS16 fuel control valve on a CNOOC offshore platform experienced an unexpected closure and shutdown. Constar repaired the circuit board and performed cleaning and maintenance on the mechanical components. The GS16 was put back into operation, saving the user valuable downtime costs.

Constar customized a servo redundancy retrofit project for FREP, ranging from a redundancy solution, program development, system integration, to on-site commissioning services.
